Last week we talked about how to arrive at the right brand voice for your creative business. Hopefully those tips helped you think more deliberately about how you want to sound and what you want to say. Of course, examples can make these concepts more concrete, so I asked a handful of local art brands to share three words they would use to describe themselves, and here's what I got. Feel free to post your's below, and I'll add you to the list.

Ask the Artists: Following Your Passion
At this point, you’ve heard me talk a lot about following your creative passion. It's not easy, and it’s not right for everyone, but it can be totally worth it if you put in the time and planning. With that said, there is no one set approach. What works for your idea and your talents may not fit someone else. As such, I’d like to share stories of other artists and makers to help you see your path. I asked a handful of local creative entrepreneurs how they’ve turned their passions into careers. As one of them pointed out, this is a loaded question. For some, this is still a long term goal, and they have valuable advice to share about being a work in progress. Others seem to have known all along that this is what they were meant to do. So what’s right for you?

Gratitude from Great Local Artists
Happy Thanksgiving! I try to express my gratitude many times throughout the year, but I love the chance to celebrate a day of Thanks with all of you. Without any commentary on the origins of this holiday, I'm very much a fan of what it has become. I couldn't be more thankful for the opportunities I've been blessed with in my life, personally and professionally. Thank you to everyone in the Austin art community that's supported me and helped make my dreams possible. I won't discount the hustle it's taken on my end, but I know I wouldn't be where I am today without the connections and friendships. My goal is to better serve the artists and handmade business owners that make Austin unique, and I'm humbled every time I'm looked to for advice and expertise. I will always be a work in progress, and Crafting Exposure has plenty of growth ahead. I could go on and on, but I'd rather share with you some other thoughts of gratitude from local Austin talents. Thank you for believing in me and my journey, and I appreciate everyone who also supports the art community and creative entrepreneurs!

Why Do You Love Being an Artist?
What sounds like a pretty straightforward question can actually be pretty hard to answer. Most of us have many reasons why we love what we do, be it photography, ceramics or painting! Some of you may feel like there was no other good choice; your Art is a large part of who you are! Truth is, the chance to pursue your passion can be meaningful for a wealth of intangible reasons.
- Creative challenges & victories on a daily basis.
- Joy & fulfillment in making something yourself.
- Connecting with people who also love what you love.
- Freedom to set your own goals, tasks & schedule.
- Sharing your aesthetic vision with the world.
- Building a following of supporters & collectors.
