What's New for April 2018

Today is my birthday, and I think it's a great opportunity to give you all few gifts. I'm excited to announce new offerings to support your art businesses. I'm always looking for more ways to move you forward as a creative entrepreneur, and I hope these options meet your needs. I welcome any feedback or ideas to fuel your growth. Thank you to everyone who's helped Crafting Exposure get to where it is today. This is a perfect example of 1 + 1 equaling more than 2. If you're interested in any of the below opportunities, let's talk. Here's to what I hope will be another awesome year around the sun!

#1. New Studio & Office
In case you missed recent social media posts, Crafting Exposure now has an office space and studio. It’s perfect for a wide range of photoshoots, meetings and more. I’ve been hard at work setting up everything, and I’m almost ready to share it with you. Many of the following few offerings are made possible by the new space, and I’m sure there will be many more to announce in time. If you want to stop by, just drop me a note! I’ve got 400 square feet to help photograph and promote your art!

#2. Open Studio Days
The first new service I will be launching is Open Studio Days. At least one day a month will be dedicated to photoshoots of any length. You can book me for 15 min, 30min, an hour. Maybe you have just one piece you need photographed, and it would be more efficient to just drop by. Or perhaps you don’t have enough space at your home or studio. I’ll have everything set up and ready to go when you arrive. Plus, you’ll have your choice of backdrops, props and more. You’re always welcome to book me for an individual shoot at the Crafting Exposure space or on location at your studio, but these open days should allow for more flexibility and last minute bookings.

#3. Prop Library
As mentioned above, now that I have a space, I can more easily share my prop options with you. These make for more interesting product shots, marketing photos and more. Whether you need jewelry busts or holiday themed items, I have been building up quite a collection of options. I will also help with staging if you need creative direction, and if you have special requests for props, I may be able to acquire them before our shoot. I welcome you to use your own collection that fits your handmade goods best, but my goal is to make it easier for you to access a wide range without buying them all yourself.

#4. Seminars & Workshops
Even before launching Crafting Exposure, I developed a love of teaching. I want everyone to have access to the tools and knowledge to make their business successful. While I’ve dabbled in a few seminars for artist groups in Austin, I will now be offering my own workshops at the Crafting Exposure space. I plan to start with some 101’s on topics like Jury Photos and Social Media. Then we can deep dive into topics you need help with. Some of these workshops will even be hands-on so you leave with your own action plan. If you have an artist organization or collective in need of professional development, I would be happy to customize a talk for you and host you at my space.

#5. Retouching
Photography is and always will be my passion. I stared with film and have now transitioned fully into digital because it makes the most sense for business. Plus, I have access to tools like Photoshop that arm me to give you the results you desire. I already retouch all of the images I shoot for my clients like you. However, if you don’t have time for a shoot, but need old photos fixed, I’m here to help. I can work to achieve consistency among different batches of photos. Perhaps they weren’t all shot on the same background. I can also make tweaks to tailor them to the desired use, changing out colors and other various elements. I can also fix images that have been scratched, faded, etc. The main thing you can’t do is create focus. For my retouching services, we'll start with a consultation to review the images you have to determine what they need and how I can help. That way you know what to expect.

I’m thrilled to be embarking on another year in this grand adventure. Thank you for allowing me to serve you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to try one of these new offerings or if you have ideas for new ways I can help you! Subscribe to my email list to be the first to hear about timing for seminars and open studio days. Birthday presents for all!
