Time to Apply: Blue Genie Art Bazaar

The holiday season is one of the best times sales opportunities for artists and handmade business owners. If you have work that is easily giftable, consider Blue Genie Art Bazaar. This event is unique in that it's open for a full month and showcases a wide range of talent. Artists aren't on site the whole time which allows them to keep making items. The application went live in May, but there is still plenty of time to submit. Just be sure you get everything in by August 10th. Here are some key considerations.

Event Notes
  • Booth setups are provided entirely by artist for wall spaces assigned.
    • ​Organizers will curate which artists setup where.
  • Load in happens just a few days before Thanksgiving.
    • ​Load out is required right after Christmas.
  • Recommend offering a range of low to mid priced gift items.
  • Artists do not staff the event; Blue Genie provides salespeople.
  • ​All items must be labeled with booth / artist number (i.e. PLU).
  • No booth fee for artists, just a commission on sales based on volume.
  • Event attracts a lot of traffic, so you must have sufficient inventory.
    • Artists should plan to refill their booth regularly.
  • Periodic events with music and refreshments announced on Facebook.
